In 1919, Margret and Karl Voelkel settled in the Wendland to live independently, inspired by Demeter principles and pressing fruit from neighbours’ orchards with a mobile press. Today, Voelkel is likely the world’s largest pure organic juice producer, a family business operating as a foundation since 2011.
