The story
Almacabio: Eco-Bio Cleaning and Body Care from Italy
In 1974, three students—Alfred, Marga and Carin—in Ulm, Germany, created the first ecological detergents using Marseille soap flakes, sodium percarbonate and essential oils, naming the brand Almacabio. In 1982, Italian entrepreneur Bruno Torresan introduced Almacabio to Italy through Hedera Natur, and by 1994 he had moved production to Trento, where the factory still operates in Povo.
