Café Direct: Fairtrade organic coffee and tea from smallholder growers
Cafédirect was founded in 1991 by Oxfam, Traidcraft, Equal Exchange and Twin Trading to address the coffee price collapse leaving farmers unable to cover production costs. As the UK’s initial and biggest Fairtrade coffee business, it purchases from 24 cooperatives in Latin America and Africa, supporting more than 100,000 small farmers.
